DURING the 10th anniversary press conference of “It’s Showtime”, Anne Curtis told the press why it’s time for them to stop asking women questions about pregnancy and marriage. This was after she was asked about her plans to have a baby.
According to the multi-awarded actress, it’s important to take note that there are some women who are going through things in life.
“I think I should take this opportunity and say that the press should stop asking that to any woman, because you don’t know what they’re going through,” she said.
Anne Curtis, who emphasized that she’s speaking not just for herself but to all the women out there, says she believes in God’s perfect time.
“For me naman, it will happen in God’s time, and I think at any time I’m ready for it,” the 34-year-old singer stated. “But I’m speaking for every woman. You don’t know what they’re going through,” she added.
Curtis said she feels bad whenever she hears that question because she has friends whom she knows are trying but simply couldn’t get pregnant.
“I have a lot of friends who may be trying and medyo nakakasakit when people keep asking them, ‘When are you going to have a baby?’ Or maybe they just don’t want to have a baby,” she remarked.
Anne then went on to ask everyone not to misinterpret her statement, reiterating her stand on the subject.
“I hope you guys don’t take this the wrong way, but I think in respect to every woman, you should stop asking when they’re going to get married, why don’t they have a baby, or when they are going to have a baby,” she said.
The TV host was also quick to say “It’s okay” after the reporter apologized for asking her the question.
Meanwhile, Vice Ganda seconded this and told the media that it’s one of the questions that we should stop raising to celebrities.
“Si Anne wala naman siyang masama [na gustong sabihin] doon. Pero since nasasanay kasi tayo. Iyon ang isa sa nakasanayan na we should put a stop to,” he said.
Anne married celebrity vlogger Erwan Heussaff in 2017. Since then, the couple has been hounded with questions about getting pregnant especially with close friends and fellow “It Girls” Georgina Wilson, Liz Uy, Isabelle Daza, and recently Solenn Heussaff, having kids. (Push)
