ILOILO – Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-10) has infected another worker of the General Service Office at the Iloilo provincial capitol.
The job hire employee – a 28-year-old male resident of Molo, Iloilo City – was a utility personnel at the ground floor of the capitol.
Aaron Raymundo, GSO head, said the latest case was asymptomatic and confined at a quarantine facility. He was among the close contacts of his infected brother who works at the Iloilo Fish Port Complex.
“Connected ni sia sa fish port [nga case] kay may utod sia nga naga-obra didto kag nagpositibo,” Raymundo told Panay News, saying the job hire’s test result was released on Sunday, Aug. 9.
He also disclosed that the employee last reported to their office on Aug. 5.
“Wala man sang madamo nga exposure sa capitol employees ang job hire bangod nga temporaryo man nga ginsirado ang capitol last Aug. 3 and 4 for disinfection,” Raymundo said.
The GSO employee is the second provincial capitol worker to test positive for COVID-19.
The first was a 29-year-old male resident of Barangay Pali Benedicto, Mandurriao, Iloilo City. He was a utility personnel at the sixth floor of the capitol.
This prompted Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. to order a two-day shutdown of the capitol to allow thorough disinfection./PN
