Another driver killed in motorcycle mishap

BACOLOD City – Another motorcycle driver was killed in a road accident, this time in Hacienda Villarosa, Barangay San Isidro, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

This Friday morning road mishap brought motorcycle-related fatalities in the province to seven in a week.

Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, Calatrava police chief, identified the latest fatality as George Limbaga Rabago, 53, of Barangay Patun-an.

Rabago, who was driving his XRM 125 motorcycle, crashed against a cargo truck – a Mitsubishi Fuso – driven by Jether Cabales Alvarez, 23, of Barangay Calampisawan.

Alvarez surrendered to the police.

In Talisay City, Negros Occidental, security guard Hernando Tinogan, 42, died on the national highway in Barangay Zone 15. Driving his motorcycle, he tried to overtake a vehicle around 3 p.m. on Friday but hit  a pothole and was thrown off his vehicle and hit a tree.

The other fatal motorcycle accidents in the past week were:

* in Barangay Sampinit, Bago City (one dead)

* in Barangay Bagtic, Silay City (three dead)

* in Barangay Guimbala-on , Silay City (one dead)

* in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City (one dead)./PN
