BACOLOD City – A severed hand was recovered yesterday morning on Ilang-Ilang Street, Purok Riverside, Barangay Bata, the third case of mysterious mutilation in this city this year.
With it was a piece of paper with a name and note: “ANTHONY ‘TATA’ VISTAR, PUSHER, PROTECTOR, KAWATAN, PANG HULDAP IMO UBRA, BULANG PA MORE AH!”.
Anthony Vistar is a policeman assigned at Police Station 5, said Police Station 3 commander Captain Armilyn Vargas.
Vistar, a police staff sergeant, has been assigned at the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Police Station 5 since 2018.
Police Station 5 chief Captain Francis Depasucat, in an interview with Radyo Bandera-Negros, said Vistar is one of the station’s diligent personnel.
“Nakibot ako kag natingala… basi isa ini ka destsabilisasyon sang mga grupo nga nagakadalasa ilabi na sa aton kampanya bsatok ilegal nga droga,” said Depasucat.
The police chief also asked Vistar if he had any enemies, and although the cop said he had none, he admitted getting threats.
“Ang akon subong nga ginhimo, para fair man, ginkakas ko siya sa pagka-SDET niya. Indi buot silingon nga guilty siya, akon lang ni ‘ya action taken internally nga matagaan man siya sang kahigayunan nga mag-eksplikar,” added Depasucat.
Meanwhile, authorities are still trying to determine who owned the severed hand.
On January, a pair of severed hands was found inside a plastic container with ingredients for a beef stew in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2. It has a piece of paper containing the names of several alleged drug suspects.
Last month, a pair of severed human feet was dumped in front of a gasoline station along C.L. Montelibano in Barangay Villamonte./PN
