SAN JOSE, Antique – The Antique Electric Cooperative (Anteco) is making sure billeting quarters of the 2017 Palarong Pambansa delegates are well-supplied with electricity.

Antique has enough electricity for the national games; generally Panay Island has sufficient power supply, according to Engr. Ludovico Lim, Anteco manager.

“We have reliable sources of power in the region,” he said. “The National Grip Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) recently energized the Igbonglo, San Jose substation.”

Anteco and the General Services Office of the provincial government have surveyed all billeting quarters to assess their power supply needs.

Schools will be provided with power transformers, but they should decide whether to rent the transformers to defray depreciation cost or have them permanently installed under a low amortization plan.

Anteco likewise detailed personnel in every town from Tobias Fornier to Bugasong. They are on alert 24/7.

Lim said they are also infrared-scanning power lines and fixing lose connections to avoid power interruption.

Anteco also asked the NGCP to spare Antique from load shedding and detail technical crew in the duration of the Palaro from April 23 to 29. (PIA/PN)
