Antidrug op nets farmer

BACOLOD City – A farmer was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation on CL Ledesma Avenue in Barangay 2, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The 41-year-old Benjie Clarion of Barangay Codcod, San Carlos City was caught after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer for P500, a police report showed.

Antidrug personnel from the San Carlos City police station staged the sting operation around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

When frisked, two more sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from Clarion, police said.

The suspected drugs seized from the suspect were valued at P9,000.

Clarion was detained in the lockup facility of the San Carlos City police station.

He was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
