ANTIQUE – The provincial government of Antique and 13 of its municipalities were recognized as 2022 Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH) passers by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Commission on Audit (COA).
The 13 towns were Barbaza, Caluya, Culasi, Hamtic, Laua-an, Libertad, Patnongon, San Jose, San Remigio, Sebaste, Sibalom, Tibiao, and Tobias Fornier.
The SGFH, formerly the Seal of Good Housekeeping, seeks to recognize local government units (LGUs) that excel in financial transparency. It is one of the components of DILG’s Seal of Good Local Governance, introduced in 2014.
Gov. Rhodora J. Cadiao said the provincial government observes accounting and auditing standards in its projects and programs.
Pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2014-39, the SGFH is conferred to an LGU that exhibits compliance with accounting and auditing standards, rules, and regulations, i.e., the most recent available COA audit opinion is either unqualified or qualified, as well as compliance with the DILG’s full disclosure policy, where all required financial documents are posted in three conspicuous places and the Full Disclosure Policy portal for the second to fourth quarters of calendar year 2021 and the first quarter of calendar year 2022./PN
