SAN JOSE, Antique – A total of 132 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in this province returned the cash grants they each received under the national government’s social amelioration program (SAP) due to coronavirus disease 2019 after learning they were ineligible recipients.
Pantawid provincial link Jeffrey Gabucay said on Tuesday that they are grateful to the 4Ps beneficiaries who returned the P6,000 SAP assistance released to them.
“We laud the 4Ps beneficiaries who showed their honesty and sincerity in returning the SAP,” said Gabucay.
“The SAP supposedly released by the local government units (LGUs) in this province is for the non-Pantawid beneficiaries only,” he added.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development downloaded an amount of P133,440,550 as SAP assistance for 26,359 4Ps beneficiaries in this province.
“During the cross-matching of the names of the SAP beneficiaries identified by the LGUs, we learned that there were 4Ps beneficiaries who were also included,” Gabucay said.
The 4Ps members were then immediately informed by their respective barangay officials to return the amount due to duplication.
Here’s the list of the 4Ps beneficiaries from the towns in this province who returned their SAP grants:
* Sibalom – 39
* Libertad – 23
* Lau-an – 20
* Caluya – 15
* Culasi – eight
* Bugasong – seven
* Patnongon – six
* Belison – five
* Hamtic – three
* San Jose – two
* Remigio – two
* Pandan – one
* Valderrama – one

The total amount returned by the 4Ps beneficiaries to their respective municipal treasurers was P792,000.

“The amount could be reallocated by the LGUs to the non-Pantawid beneficiaries who were left out,” Gabucay said./PN
