ANTIQUE – The 18 municipalities here are all set for the three-day national vaccination drive against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) which runs from today, Nov. 29, until Dec. 1.
The provincial government seeks to vaccinate 38,405 residents each day for three days.
Antique Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ric Noel Naciongayo said there will be 28 vaccination sites. Among these are district hospitals, schools and municipal covered gyms.
The vaccination will be managed by the vaccination teams of the provincial and municipal government units, Antique Medical Society, Antique Pediatric Society, and volunteers from private organizations.
Naciongayo made it clear that the vaccinations in Rural Health Unit (RHUs) will go on simultaneously with those in the28 vaccination sites.
The three-day national vaccination drive is open to the general population and youngsters from 12 to 17 years old.
Naciongayo said Antique has sufficient supply of vaccines from the Department of Health (DOH).
As of Nov. 21, 116,974 Antiqueños were already deemed fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The provincial government target is 432,452 Antiqueños.
For the whole Region 6, over 1.2 million are the target population for vaccination.
