ANTIQUE – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) cancelled sea travel from Semirara, Caluya; Libertad; and Culasi to Oriental and Occidental Mindoro and Palawan and vice versa via small crafts.
Yesterday around 5 a.m., PCG-Antique acting Station Commander ENS Marlou L. Cloma issued an advisory about this, citing strong to gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon as per the warning issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
“Trips from Antique to Oriental and Occidental Mindoro/Palawan and vice versa via small sea crafts of 250 gross registered tons and below are cancelled,” read part of sea travel advisory No. 1.
Boat trips from Barangay Poblacion bound for Mararison Island, Culasi were also cancelled.
Large vessels, meanwhile, were alerted against big waves.
Resumption of trips will depend on PAGASA’s next weather bulletin.
The seagoing riding public, coastal communities, and fisher folk were advised not to venture into the sea and refrain from engaging in sea-related activities to prevent any untoward incidents./PN
