SAN JOSE, Antique – Capitol created a body that will assist Antiqueños in finding employment and other sources of livelihood.
Gov. Rhodora Cadiao formed the Provincial Livelihood Council via an executive order, Vice Gov. Edgar Denosta announced.
In a recent Provincial Convergence Committee meeting, Denosta disclosed Cadiao was responding to a finding of Interior department evaluators for the EXCELL Award that Antique lacks a program for livelihood access.
The committee comprises local government officials and provincial heads of national government agencies.
Cadiao, who was in Manila for an official travel at the time, said the lapses the evaluators found can be considered an opportunity for Antique to “find room for improvement.”
Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Egidio Elio welcomed the creation of the Livelihood Council.
Elio said this will help the Public Employment Service Office to find companies that will employ highly qualified Antiqueños and those who need source of living. (PNA)
