SAN JOSE, Antique – The Antique Inter-Agency Task Force on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the League of Municipalities of the Philippines-Antique Chapter approved in a meeting yesterday the sale and purchase of liquor or any alcoholic beverages.
Gov. Rhodora Cadiao said residents can distribute or purchase the products this weekend from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. only as there will be a formal revision on her Executive No. 49 on May 25.
Drinking in public places, on the other hand, is still not allowed, she added.
Cadiao imposed a liquor ban in Antique during the enhanced community quarantine period due to coronavirus disease 2019 and decided to retain the rule under general community quarantine.
As of May 21, 2020, at least 7 persons were arrested for violating liquor ban in this province.
Four of them were caught selling while three were arrested for transporting the liquor in Antique’s borders./PN
