Antique fails to hit DOH target on Day 1 of ‘Bakunahan’

ANTIQUE – More than 10,000 individuals across the province were vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the first day (Nov. 29) of the three-day “Bayanihan Bakunahan” national vaccination drive of the government.

Very good. Very nice ang outcome. Indi amo na kalian,” said Gov. Rhodora Cadiao who got her vaccine booster shot on Monday morning.

The Department of Health (DOH) set the daily target of the Bayanihan Bakunahan in Antique at 38,405 vaccinees. The province failed to hit this target on Nov. 29.

But Cadiao expressed confidence that the number of the vaccinated would further rise.

All the 18 towns of Antique are participating in the campaign.

“The 12 to 17 years old gusto gid nila,” added Cadiao.

She again urged Antiqueños to have themselves vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Let’s take advantage of the three days nga Bayanihan Bakunahan. Wala sang restrictions. Puede gani walk-in,” said Cadiao.

There are 28 vaccination sites across Antique for the Bayanihan Bakunahan. They include district hospitals, schools and municipal covered gyms.

As of Nov. 21, the number of Antique’s fully vaccinated people reached 116,974 .

To achieve herd immunity, Antique targets to vaccinate 432,452 people./PN
