Antique farmers get nearly P1M egg production inputs

ILOILO City – Nearly P1 million worth of inputs for an egg production project were given to the Igbarawan Farmers Irrigators Association Inc. in Patnongon, Antique.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 6 released to 56 beneficiaries, including farmers, women, senior citizens, out-of-school youths and displaced workers P996,864 worth of inputs. They are now taking care of 675 heads of ready-to-lay pullets.

To ensure high production, they were also provided with feeds, vitamins, vaccines and other raw materials and equipment.

Regional Director Sixto T. Rodriguez Jr. is positive that the project will be sustainable considering the high demand for eggs in Antique.

He also said the livelihood project suits the skills and expertise of the beneficiaries and is very adaptable to their environment.
