Antique gets new police director

ILOILO City – The Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) has a new acting director.

A native of Laua-an town in Antique, Police Colonel Rogelio Abran Jr. formally assumed yesterday as Antique’s top cop, replacing Police Colonel Alexander Mariano.

Mariano relinquished his post on May 8. He served in the position for one year and four months.

Abran was a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class 1999.

This was his second assignment under the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6). Two years ago, he was assigned to the Regional Civil Service Unit (RCSU) 6.

He also had stints in Region 12, Cebu, and at the Firearms and Explosives Office of the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame.

Prior to Antique, he was the chief of RCSU Region 13.

“I’m thankful to our PNP chief, General Benjamin Acorda Jr., for giving me the chance to serve my native land a nd to the provincial government of Antique for trusting me,” Abran said.

On the other hand, Mariano also expressed gratitude for being of service to the people of Antique.

He will be assigned as chief of the directorial staff of the PRO-6, replacing Police Colonel Joriz Cantoria who will also move up as deputy regional director for operations./PN
