Police Colonel Roy Parena assumed as the new APPO commander during a ceremony held at its headquarters in this capital town on Tuesday. He succeeded former police provincial director Colonel Leo Irwin Agpangan.

In his message, Parena said everyone in the police organization and the stakeholders are significant in the maintenance of peace and order.

β€œI believe in inclusive governance as an approach to attain our shared goal,” he said.

Parena also noted the importance of community support to his predecessor like in the improvement of the facilities in the provincial headquarters for which he also is counting on during his term.

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director, Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, said this is part of the change happening this year 2020 at the police organization. He officiated the turnover ceremony on Tuesday.

Pamuspusan said Agpangan, who had been APPO director for more than three years in Antique had been relieved effective last Jan. 8, and will be assigned to the PRO-6 headquarters.

As he relinquished his position, Agpangan expressed gratitude to the provincial officials for their support to the police organization.

β€œIndeed, our new police director has a big shoe to fill in because of Agpangan who served Antique with all his best,” she said. (With a report from PNA/PN)
