Antique is now in low-risk classification due to lower COVID-19 positive cases

ANTIQUE – The province of Antique is now in low-risk classification due to the decreased Average Daily Attack Rate (ADAR) and Two Week Growth Rate (TWGR) of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Last January 14, 2022, to January 27, 2022, the percentage of ADAR in the province is 15.11 percent but from January 28, 2022, to February 10, 2022, it decreases to 6.81 percent.

In terms of TWGR, from January 14, 2022, to January 27, 2022, the positive cases are 1,296 was recorded but from 28, 2022 to February 10, 2022, it listed

584 or 712 case difference or negative (-) 55 percent change.

The utilization rate of beds dedicated for COVID-19 patients also decreases in these past few weeks and was listed at 31.33 percent.

As of February 13, the province recorded  8,486 total confirmed cases, 386 are still active, 7,770 recovered and 330 deaths.

The active cases are from towns of San Jose (57), Sibalom (43), San Remigio (39), Hamtic (38), Tibiao (33), Pandan (31), Valderrama (29), Culasi (27), Laua-an (19), Barbaza (12), Belison (12), Patnongon (11), Sebaste (eight), Tobias Fornier (eight), Anini-y (seven),  Bugasong (seven), Caluya (three), and Libertad (two).

To recall, two weeks ago Antique was classified as a critical risk after recording an increase of ADAR and TWGR.

Governor Rhodora Cadiao always reminds Antiqueños to stay safe, follow the minimum health protocols, and isolate if they have symptoms to stop the spread of COVID-19.

“Since the disease is fast spreading and affects the whole household, immediate isolation of individuals with symptoms is necessary so as not to affect other members, and seek medical advice if needed,”  Cadiao said.

To maintain the low health care utilization rate, Cadiao ordered the 18 towns officials to manage their primary health care facilities as temporary treatment, monitoring, and isolation centers for mild cases.

“To maintain the stability of our hospitals, mild cases should be handled by primary health care facilities to economize our hospital resources,” Cadiao added./PN
