ANTIQUE – This province’s losses to African Swine Fever (ASF) have so far reached P57,520,000.

As of the Aug. 4 data of the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (ProVet), 910 hog raisers were affected.

Below is the breakdown of the losses per municipality:

* Hamtic – P42,334,500 or 4,664 reported swine deaths

* San Jose de Buenavista – P14,073,500 or 1,335 reported swine deaths

* Belison – P1,112,000 or 244 reported swine deaths

The Sibalom Municipal Agriculture Office has yet to submit a report.

The ProVet continues distributing vitamin supplements for livestock and poultry, disseminating information about ASF, and reminding swine raisers to practice strict biosecurity measures.

The local government unit also continues implementing ASF border controls. All incoming vehicles from Iloilo and outgoing livestock transport carriers are inspected./PN
