SAN JOSE, Antique – Security measures during the May 14 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections in the province are all set.
This was after members of an inter-agency committee signed the contingency plan for the polls during the Provincial Joint Security Control Center Coordinating Conference.
The contingency plan provides responses to possible threats, risks and hazards before, during and after the election day, according to Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) deputy director for operations Superintendent Norby Escobar.
The conference was held recently at the Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO). It was organized by the police and the Commission on Elections.
Captain Valentino Pascua II, intelligence officer of the 61st Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, provincial government representatives, national government agency officials, and members of organizations and the media attended the conference.
APPO deputy director for operations Superintendent Norby Escobar presented the contingency plan during the event. He also discussed the roles of each stakeholder.
The APPO and Comelec are banking on the support of all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful election day. (With a report from PIA/PN)
