Antique requests banks, lending firms for loan payment delay

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – Banks and other lending institutions here have been requested to impose a moratorium on loan payments and other financial obligations until August this year.

The request for a moratorium was contained in a resolution sponsored by Board Member Victor Condez during the regular session on April 22.

“We approved the resolution unanimously so that the people who are having difficulty in the payment of their loans could be given leeway,” Antique’s vice governor Edgar Denosta said.

The resolution will be sent to banks and other financial institutions.

Denosta added that it would be a big help if the people would be given a moratorium in paying their loans during this health crisis.

The request for moratorium also included the Government Service Insurance System and other government financial institutions.

Furthermore, Denosta also sponsored a resolution for the adjustment of the salaries of contractual nurses in the provincial and eight district hospitals.

The vice governor stressed that if the provincial government could not yet hire them as regular employees because of Personal Services limitations, their salaries should at least be made commensurate to their work.PNA/PN
