Antique suspect yields P714K ‘shabu,’ gun

ANTIQUE – An operation conducted by law enforcement agencies in Antique resulted in the seizure of P714,000 worth of suspected shabu and a firearm, and the arrest of a high-value individual.

Joint forces comprising the San Jose Municipal Police Station, the Antique Police Provincial Office (PPO)-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Antique, and the Antique PPO-Police Intelligence Unit successfully executed a search warrant in Purok 1, Barangay 5, San Jose de Buenavista at 1:26 p.m. on Friday, March 8.

Alias “Nonoy” Juala, 33, unemployed, and a resident of the place, was found in possession of approximately 105 grams of the illegal substance, packed in 21 large heat-sealed plastic sachets, with a total standard drug price of P714,000.

During the search, a .45 caliber firearm with ammunition was also found.

The arrested suspect, set to face charges under Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms), is currently held in custody of the San Jose police for further legal proceedings./PN
