ANTIQUE – The provincial government of Antique led by Gov. Rhodora Cadiao hailed Cadet First Class Krystlenn Ivany Quemado, valedictorian of the Philippine Military Academy “Bagsik Diwa” Class of 2022.
Quemado, 22, is the daughter of Philippine Army’s Colonel Nicolas Quemado Jr. of PMA Class 1993 and a native of Sitio Pajo, Barangay Caridad, Hamtic, Antique.
The elder Quemado is currently the inspector general of the Army.
Cadete Krystlenn Ivany, however, was born and grew up in Koronadal City, South Cotabato – the place of her mother, a teacher at Notre Dame of Marbel University.
Quemado will be receiving the Presidential Saber from President Rodrigo Duterte this May 15 at PMA’s first in-person commencement exercises since the coronavirus pandemic struck in 2020.
She will also be awarded the Philippine Navy Saber, Jusmag Saber, Australian Defence Best Overall Performance Award, Spanish Armed Forces Award, Agfo Award, Academic Group Award, Humanities Plaque, Management Plaque, Social Sciences Plaque, and Navy Professional Courses Plaque.
The municipal government of Hamtic, Antique also hailed Quemado.

Quemado is the seventh woman to top a PMA class since the school began accepting female cadets in 1993./PN
