AREA 7 track and field players continued its medal haul by adding eight golds in the Negros Occidental Palarong Panlalawigan 2018 at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City on Wednesday.
Ann Katherine Quitoy spearheaded Area 7’s haul in Day 3 with a gold medal in secondary girls javelin throw, while fellow veteran Angel Ann Pranisa took the gold in secondary girls 200-meter dash.
Dou Ciara Largavista and MJ Maldeguia, meanwhile, bagged the gold in secondary girls and boys’ 1500-meter run, respectively, while John Paul Plomeda ruled the secondary boys discus throw.
Reniel Gustilo and June Philip Martinez also won a gold medal for Area 7 in the secondary boys 110-meter hurdles and shot put, while Rome Ujeno ruled the 400-meter run and 400-meter hurdles.
Joshua Tacang of Area 3, meanwhile, bounced back from his silver medal finish in long jump, with a gold in triple jump, while Ritchie Estampador of Area 5 finished first in 5,000-meter run and Area 6’s Charry Villanueva topping the middle distance run.
In elementary girls’ athletics, Dona Mae De Leon of Binalbagan captured two gold medals in the elementary girls’ long jump and triple jump, while Emgiel Doran of Area 2 snared a gold in discus throw and Jamela De Asis topped the shot put.
Meanwhile, NOPSSCEA’s Amanda Ray Rosco bagged four golds in aero gymnastics (individual, trio, team and mixed pair), while Fernando Caesar Po bagged the gold in singles lawn tennis./PN
