ILOILO City – An altercation turned into a shooting incident in Barangay Sooc, Arevalo district, police said.
The 21-year-old resident John Rodman Ramos and two of his friends were walking on their way home around 9:30 p.m. on Monday when a group of three men waylaid them, a police report showed.
A heated argument ensued between the two groups. It was however not immediately clear what triggered the altercation.
Ramos was shot on the left knee, police said. He was now receiving treatment at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district.
The 20-year-old Ramel Quidato, 19-year-old Bernard Palmes and a certain “Louie” were tagged as suspects. All of them were residents of Mandurriao.
Ramos’ friends were unscathed after they managed to run after seeing Quidato holding a gun, police said.
Police have yet to locate the suspects as of this writing./PN
