ILOILO City – Gerald Gonzales was accused of stealing various items from a mall on Sen. Benigno Aquino Jr. Avenue, Mandurriao district.
The 35-year-old resident of Barangay Santa Cruz, Arevalo was arrested and detained at the Mandurriao police station.
Two workers of SM City Iloilo who caught him claimed that Gonzales took the following items from their Department Store and left without paying for them:
* six Fubu shirts
* three Dickies T-shirts
* one Dyse One shirt
* one pink Ruffles backpack
The backpack contained the other items, SM security guard Abe Cudo, 40, and employee Clark Gil Dagunan, 39, told the police. They turned Gonzales over to the Mandurriao police at 6 p.m. on May 29.
All the allegedly stolen items were worth P6,797.75, a police report stated.
Suspicious of Gonzales, Cudo asked him for receipts but he failed to show any, stated the report. (April Grace R. Padilla, Intern/PN)
