BACOLOD City – A heated argument between two persons in Barangay 9 left 1 person killed and 3 others wounded.
Police identified the fatality as resident 36-year-old Villardo Basingcol, who sustained a gunshot wound on the head.
Residents Alfredo Fernin Sr., his son Alfredo Jr. and Lorenzo Dioso also sustained injuries on the body, police said.
Officers of Police Station 2 said Dioso and Basingcol started a commotion after a heated argument ensued between them around 12:15 a.m. on May 30.
Basingcol allegedly shot Dioso using an unidentified gun.
Alfredo Sr. arrived to pacify them but Basingcol also shot and stabbed the latter. His son Alfredo Jr. meanwhile was hit by a stray bullet.
According to police investigation, Dioso was able to grab Basingcol’s firearm and shot him on the head.
Police recovered a kitchen knife, an improvised shotgun, a fired cartridge, and a live bullet of a 12-gauge shotgun from the crime scene.
The Fernins already received medical treatment.
Dioso, on the other hand, was now under hospital arrest. Charges will be filed against him./PN
