CALLING all K-Drama, K-Pop fans and anyone who has a craving for authentic Korean food, Arirang’s Korean buffet will take your taste buds to the land of kimchi and samgyupsal – now at its new prime location at the The Uptown Place Condominium General Luna Street, Iloilo City.
Arirang Korean Restaurant’s buffet features 40 kinds of Korean cuisine, including favorites kimchi, shrimp tempura and gimbap, a Korean dish made from cooked rice and other ingredients that are rolled in dried sheets of seaweed and served in bite-size slices.
The restaurant offers two buffets available every day: the Lunch buffet (11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and the Dinner buffet (5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
Entering Arirang Korean Restaurant, you’d think you’ve found yourself a little slice of Korea right at the heart of Iloilo City.
Established by husband and wife duo Park Jong Du and Kim Jong Soon in February 2016, the restaurant is named after a famous Korean folk song narrating a tragic love story set in the countryside – a couple separated by an uncrossable river.
Seeing the rising interest of Filipinos in their culture and the lack of authentic Korean dining in Iloilo City, the couple sought to put up their restaurant last year.
Arirang boasts of its loyalty to traditional Korean dining, bringing to Ilonggos the delectable dishes and quality service most would expect from a high-class restaurant, at affordable prices.
For a high-end experience, diners can opt to order from Arirang’s extensive menu, which includes the Samgyupsal and Bulgogi Jungsik sets – with every main dished ordered coming with 16 different side dishes, among them pajun (seafood pancakes), hobak twigim (battered squash), and dong-gue-rang-taeng (tofu balls) .
The sets are served on graceful sliding tables as Park Jong Du and Kim Jong Soon invite guests to drink home Korean herbal tea.
Arirang Korean Restaurant is now at the The Uptown Place Condominium General Luna Street, Iloilo City. It is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. For reservations, contact (033) 323-4962.
