Arleses want murder suspects jailed in Manila

BACOLOD City — The family of Judge Henry Arles wants the suspects in the judge’s murder transferred from Negros Occidental to any jail in Metro Manila.

Judge Arles’ son, Philip, said the suspects’ transfer will let the government save on the cost of travel during hearings.

Philip Arles believes it will also spare the witnesses from any threat from the suspects and the brains behind the crime.

He also said their family is happy the Supreme Court granted their petition to transfer the case from Kabankalan City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 61 to an RTC in Metro Manila. The case is now with the Quezon City RTC.

Jailed over Judge Arles’ murder were Jessie Daguia, Alejandro Capunong, and Eddie Fortunado, all members of Revolutionary Proletarian Army–Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB).

Still at large were RPA-ABB members Marvin Salve, Gerald Tabujara, and Rustom Puro, and Ilog municipal government employee Emmanuel Medes./PN
