JAMINDAN, Capiz – The 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division (3ID) of the Philippine Army has started the six-month training for 124 aspirant soldiers at Camp Peralta here.

The training – Candidate Soldier Course or CSC – kicked off on Aug. 10.

Major General Eric Vinoya, 3ID commander, said the course has two parts: three months of rigid CSC training and another three months for Infantry Operations Course (INFOC) that will be handled by the training staff of the 3rd Division Training School (3DTS).

Aside from discipline and proficiency in military doctrines, policies and Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs), the trainees would also be taught basic weapons and Army Techniques, Tactics and Procedures (TTPs).

“The training should transform them into reliable, responsive and committed enlisted personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” Vinoya said.

The aspirants – called CSC Class 668- 2021 – passed a rigorous selection process – physical, medical, neurological, and psychological examinations.

“This training will be difficult and rigorous. However, bear in mind that you have chosen this path for a reason. In times of uncertainties and doubts, always go back to that reason and live one day at a time,” Vinoya told the aspirants during a ceremony kicking off their training.

He added: “Start strong and finish strong! Emerge as soldiers embodying excellence, commitment and victory, and you will become genuine Spearhead Troopers, ready to serve our people in Western and Central Visayas.”/PN
