Arrested armed robbers part

BACOLOD City – The city police suspect that the three men arrested last week in Barangay Alijis might be members of an organized crime group.

Last week, robbery suspects Rodolfo Suelan, Roberto Delos Santos and Richard Parcon were captured in a dragnet operation by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) after allegedly robbing a freight hub of a courier company in Barangay Zone 12, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Police investigations revealed that the trio were the prime suspects in robbery hold-ups at two other freight hubs near St. John’s Institute in Talisay City and Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.

Lieutenant Colonel Ronnie Brillo, commander of BCPO’s City Mobile Force Company, said the suspects’ use of bulletproof vests and firearms suggests they might be members of an organized group.

Following their arrest, a .35 revolver, two .38 revolvers, and several live ammunition rounds were seized.

Brillo added that one of the suspects was involved in illegal drug activities.

Authorities handed the suspects over to the Talisay City Police Station.

Lieutenant Colonel Salvador Trono, the Talisay City police commander, stated that they intend to file additional charges for illegal possession of firearms and for violating the Commission on Elections gun ban.

Furthermore, they are investigating if the three were implicated in other robbery incidents in the city, added Trono. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
