ILOILO City – A doctor accused two traffic aides of being “arrogant.”
Dr. Marinel Gabayoyo believes her citation was random as Lloyd Katipunan and Joemarie Dusaban of the Transportation Management and Traffic Regulation Office (TMTRO) try to meet their quota of at least 50 arrests per month, a police report showed.
Gabayoyo told the Molo district police she was driving a car and just turned right at an intersection fronting Iloilo Supermart in the district around 5 p.m. on May 19 when Katipunan and Dusaban signaled her to stop.
Dusaban then banged her car’s trunk, while Katipunan approached her, Gabayoyo claimed.
Gabayoyo presented her driver’s license to Katipunan, who “arrogantly” took it and issued her a temporary operator’s permit without explaining her violation, the police report said.
She introduced herself as a physician, but Katipunan allegedly responded in an “arrogant manner,” “Wala ka man kagina nagpakilala. Explain ka lang sa fifth floor sa city hall sa Lunes.”
The 31-year-old physician was a resident of Barangay East Baluarte, Molo.
Katipunan and Dusaban cannot be reached for comment as of this writing./PN
