BACOLOD City – Charged with arson, a man was nabbed in Barangay Zone 1, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The 68-year-old Leonardo Villaruel of Barangay Luna, Cadiz City was caught on the strength of an arrest warrant around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, a police report showed.
Villaruel had been hiding from the police for about 29 years, the report added.
Police officers served the warrant issued by Judge Adelino Ledesma of the Regional Trial Court Branch 60 in Cadiz City dated Sept. 5, 1990.
The suspect was detained in the lockup facility of the Cadiz City police station.
A P20,000 bail bond was recommended for Villaruel’s temporary liberty./PN
