ATENEO de Iloilo and Santa Isabel College of Iloilo cruised to a 2-0 start in the secondary boys basketball of the 2018 Iloilo PRISAA at the Western Institute of Technology gym in Iloilo City.
Ateneo tallied its second straight triumph on Friday against WIT 72-67 with Gem Owen Gregorio leading the way with 24 points and Timothy Jose Monfort adding 12 markers.
Santa Isabel, on the other hand, went up two victories after taking down Filipino American School Town 93-84. Keith Kaede Bernasol had 29 points while Kristian Gicole added 20 markers for the winning squad.
Iloilo Sacred Heart School snagged the second place with a 2-1 win-loss slate after a 124-27 domination over St. Joseph School. JM Zolayvar had 27 points while Joseph Polmo added 26 markers for Sacred Heart.
In other results, Santa Clarita International School, St. Robert’s International Academy, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University, and University of San Agustin kicked off their campaign with impressive wins.
Santa Clarita cruised to a lopsided 109-32 victory over St. Paul University of Iloilo with the tandem of Franc Steven Tono and Kim Rey Servano combining for 50 markers.
John B., meanwhile, scored an 81-54 domination over Georgia International Academy, Inc. with Nelson Latoza firing 21 points, while San Agustin walloped Colegio de las Hijas de Jesus 116-42.
St. Robert’s, on the other hand, banked on the strong showing on Gwyn Mile Pendon and Mark Beaver Baruela to defeat Sun Yat Sen High School 88-77./PN
