Ateneo, St. Joseph leading ISSA secondary girls volleyball

ATENEO de Iloilo and St. Joseph School claimed the early lead in the secondary girls volleyball of the 2018 Iloilo Schools Sports Association Meet at the Iloilo Doctors’ College Dentistry gym in Iloilo City.

Ateneo first scored a 25-11, 25-22 sweep over CenterPhil Montessori Silver Knights before edging Iloilo Scholastic Academy 25-7, 25-11. St. Joseph then walloped Bethany Life Christian Academy 25-18, 25-7 before beating Santa Clarita Primes 25-2, 25-3.

University of San Agustin, meanwhile, split their matches with a win over Primes 25-1, 25-4 and a loss to Sun Yat Sen High School 21-25, 25-20, 18-25. Hua Siong College of Iloilo opened their campaign with a 25-18, 25-11 win over ISA.

In secondary boys, San Agustin cruised to a 2-0 start with wins over Primes (25-4, 25-13) and John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (25-20, 25-13). Hua Siong split their games with a win over Primes (25-11, 25-9) and a loss to John B. (10-25, 12-25).

In tertiary women, Western Institute of Technology won their first two matches against Iloilo Doctors’ College 25-23, 25-13, 25-14 and San Agustin 14-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-19, 15-9.

In tertiary men, Doctors’ romps past WIT (25-18, 25-14, 25-16) and John B. (25-16, 25-11, 25-15) while San Agustin walloped John B. (25-10, 25-13, 25-19) and WIT (27-25, 25-18, 25-21).

In elementary girls, Ateneo swept San Agustin 27-25, 25-10 while Hua Siong had an easy victory over St. Joseph 25-4, 25-11./PN
