ATENEO de Iloilo kept their unbeaten record in elementary and secondary girls volleyball of the 2018 Iloilo Schools Sports Association Meet at the Iloilo Doctors’ College Dentistry Gym in Iloilo City.
Baby Dragons finished off their elementary girls elimination round matches with a 3-0 card Saturday after a 25-6, 25-6 win over St. Joseph School and also clinched a twice-to-beat advantage in the finals.
Hua Siong College of Iloilo Red Phoenix, meanwhile, captured the other finals seat after scoring a 25-20, 25-22 win over University of San Agustin. The championship round is slated this weekend.
Meanwhile Ateneo Blue Dragons cruised to their third straight victory in Bracket A of secondary girls after dealing the Red Phoenix their first defeat in three games 25-7, 25-15.
Sun Yat Sen High School, on the other hand, stayed on top in Bracket B with a 3-0 card after a 25-6, 25-3 win over Bethany Life Christian Academy, while San Agustin cruised to an easy 25-7, 25-15 win over St. Joseph.
Behind Blue Dragons in Bracket A were Red Phoenix (2-1), CenterPhil Montessori Silver Knights (0-2) and Iloilo Scholastic Academy (0-2).
In Bracket B, trailing behind Sun Yat Sen were San Agustin (3-1), St. Joseph (2-1), Bethany (0-3), and Santa Clarita International School (0-3)./PN
