Ati-Atihan pageant finalists named

KALIBO, Aklan – Sixteen women are competing for the much-coveted Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan title. They include twins and a Mutya ng Pilipinas Western Visayas alumna.
The finalists survived the screening by the three-member selection committee of the Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi).
Among them are 17-year-old Filipina-Italian twins Eleonora Valentina Laorenza and Theadora Elizabeth Laorenza of New Washington town.
One of their contenders is 21-year-old Filipina-Arabian May Adel Ahmed Salman, also of New Washington. She was second runner-up in Mutya ng Pilipinas Western Visayas in June.
Other candidates are:

* Camille Fate Santos, 16, of Kalibo
* Khadine Hontiveros, 25, of Nabas
* Harriette Panagsagan, 17, of Altavas
* Rose Fuerte, 17, of Kalibo
* Eirene Mae Cuare, 19, of Kalibo
* Jazzine Mae Andres, 15, of Altavas
* Gillian Christine Bartolome, 19, of Kalibo
* Rosebella Arban, 20, of Ibajay
* Cleoradizel Baruela, 18, of Kalibo
* Honey Mae Bandiola, 19, of Boracay Island, Malay
* Janelyn Salido, 19, of Ibajay
* Ma. Andrea Paula Gabay, 17, Boracay Island
Kasafi chairman Albert Menez said the women will try to outclass each other during the pageant on Jan. 6, 2017.
The aspirants are undergoing a three-month training and competing in pre-pageant events that lead to the finals night at the Gov. Augusto B. Legaspi Sports and Cultural Center.
Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan will be held before merrymakers and devotees fill the streets of this capital town for the street-dancing competition and other religious activities from Jan. 6 to 15, 2017. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
