ILOILO City – Policemen investigating the storming of a house in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district are puzzled by an audio recording purportedly taken during the June 20 incident.

A man’s voice could be heard looking for a certain “Nognog”.

A banging sound could also be heard presumably in the house of Melba Jeminillo in Barangay Bakhaw.

But Police Captain Val Allan Cambel, chief of the Mandurriao police station, expressed reservations on the authenticity of the recording.

“The audio clip is circulating on social media. It’s also hard to establish if it was recorded in the house of Nognog or somewhere else,” added Cambel.

Nognog was on the list of the Barangay Antidrug Abuse Council. He was the former owner of Jeminillo’s house.

As of this writing, the Mandurriao police have no suspects in the aborted storming of Jeminillo’s house by an estimated 10 armed, unidentified men./PN
