MANILA – The Philippines men’s football team (Azkals) will be fielding its developmental squad in the 2020 Philippines Football League (PFL), which is tentatively scheduled to kick off on April 18.

Azkals team manager Dan Palami said that deploying the Azkals Development Team (ADT) in the tournament is an aim to hone their skills.

“This is one of the answers to the clamor to improve our players before they get into the senior team,” said Palami.

The ADT is to be predominantly represented by booters who represented the Philippines U22 national team in the 2019 Southeast Asian games, which was hosted by the country. Goran Milojevic serves as the team’s brain of the operations.

Among the players for the ADT to play in the PFL 2020 season are Jarvey Gayoso, Curt Dizon, Marvin Angeles, Elias Mordal, Anthony Pinthus, Edison Suerti, Mar Diano, and Kristofer Reyes.

ADT is the seventh squad in the said tournament along with defending champions Ceres–Negros FC, Global Makati FC, Kaya FC–Iloilo, Mendiola FC 1991, Philippine Air Force FC, and Stallion Laguna FC./PN
