BACOLOD City – A resident of Barangay Mansilingan in this city ranked 10th in the October 2024 Fisheries Technologists Licensure Examination (FTLE).

Isabela Therese Dedel got a rating of 89 percent and was among the 40 new fisheries technologists from Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU).

Dedel finished her degree of Bachelor of Science in Fisheries at CHMSU Binalbagan.

She said she did not expect to land in the top 10.

She also shared that aside from religiously reviewing her notes, she and her fellow CHMSU exam takers closely observed fisheries professionals in the field to prepare for the board exam.

Dedel was thankful to God, and her family and friends for being there with her throughout her journey.

“I am also most thankful for the incredible support of CHMSU College of Fisheries faculty,” she added.

CHMSU College of Fisheries dean Imee Perante congratulated all the passers and urged those who failed to use the setback as a motivation when retaking the exam next year.

Of the 63 first-time takers from CHMSU, 38 passed the board exam, while the two repeat takers also passed the exam, giving the university a 61.54 percent passing rate.

The Professional Regulatory Commission announced that 1,005 out of 1,509 passed the October 2024 FTLE./PN
