Bacolod aims for ‘longest’ chicken grill station in Inasal Festival

BACOLOD City – This city will stage once again the Chicken Inasal Festival on May 26 to 28 and targets putting up a 320-meter-long grilling station.

A meeting between stakeholders was held on Monday, May 8, according to Councilor Celia Flor, chair of the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s (SP) Committee on Market.

The “longest” chicken grilling station will be at the Upper East Megaworld in Barangay Villamonte at 5 p.m. on May 27, to be sponsored by several nongovernment organizations.

This year’s Chicken Inasal Festival will have three sites: the North Capitol Road, the Upper East, and Manokan Country in the Reclamation Area.

The opening ceremony will be held on North Capitol Road.

The three-day gastronomic celebration will also include beer tasting and pairing, an inasal cook-off, and local guest chefs’ chicken inasal renditions, among others.

The SP passed an ordinance amending City Ordinance (CO) No. 847, which amended CO 482, “establishing yearly festivities to be known as the Manokan Country Inasal Festival in the City of Bacolod” to be held annually in May./PN
