Bacolod City lone district Congressman Greg Gasataya said the city is aiming to open nine new barangay health centers prior to the end of 2022.
Gasataya identified the nine as the health centers in barangays Banago, Cabug, Felisa, Mandalagan, Mansilingan, Montevista, Punta Taytay, Taculing, and Villamonte.
He said five of the barangay health centers had already been finished, while the remaining four are still being constructed.
The said projects were part of his initiative, and he made the request to the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Aside from the completion of the health centers, the congressman also clarified that Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez has released a directive to the City Health Office to hire additional doctors.
The new doctors will then be assigned to the various barangay health centers in the city./PN
