BACOLOD City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has reshuffled its election officers here and in the city of Bago, Negros Occidental.

Lawyer Kathrina Caña of Bago City was reassigned as poll officer of this capital city.

Lawyer Jan Anthony Saril, on the other hand, took over the post vacated by Caña.

Saril was appointed as the chief of Comelec-Bacolod in November last year after Judge Mavil Sia vacated the post.

Sia is now a judge at the Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Ilog and Candoni towns in Negros Occidental.

According to Saril, he did not encounter any major problem during his stint in Bacolod except in September when his office was temporarily closed.

The voter registration for the 2022 national elections was also suspended due to the modified enhanced community quarantine.

The list-up resumed earlier this month.

Caña encouraged the public to register.

Comelec-Bacolod has so far registered 55 individuals since the resumption of the voter registration on Oct. 1.

Registrants are advised to wear facemasks and face shields, and bring their own pens./PN
