BACOLOD City – The barangay council of Singcang Airport has pledged to donate a 500-square meter parcel of land for the new location of Police Station 8, officials announced yesterday.
The lot, situated at JR Torres Subdivision adjacent to the old airport runway near SM property, aims to host a Philippine National Police-standard police station to enhance law enforcement responsiveness.
Atty. Caesar Distrito, village chief of Barangay Singcang Airport, has initiated contact with Mayor Albee Benitez and Cong. Greg Gestaya, seeking financial support for the project.
Distrito emphasized the strategic placement of Police Station 8 to better serve the neighborhoods of Pahanocoy, Tangub, and Singcang Airport.
The decision to relocate the station from its current location, which is distant from its primary area of responsibility and on non-PNP property, was discussed in a meeting attended by key local and regional police representatives, including Major Peter John Pesuena of the Police Regional Office and Police Station 8 chief, Eugene Tolentino./PN
