Bacolod Brgy. 3 bldg has no permits – OBO

BACOLOD City – A structure in Barangay 3 has no building and occupancy permits, according to the Office of the Building Official (OBO).

OBO head Isidro Sun Jr. said the two-storey building violated Republic Act 6541, or the National Building Code of the Philippines.

The first floor of the building serves as a day care center while the second floor, the barangay hall.

Sun said he already served Barangay 3 village chief Bob Asan a notice of violation.

Asan said he is willing to comply, adding that they are now processing their application for the needed permits.

On the other hand, resident Ma. Gizela Palomares-Ablana has complained about the building being illegal.

Ablana – through her legal counsel Jose Max Ortiz – wrote Mayor Evelio Leonardia a letter telling him that the building causes “noise pollution.”

She added that the building is also causing her “inconvenience” it having “full access” to her lot.

The matter was already raised to the Department of Interior and Local Government, Ortiz also wrote in the letter./PN
