BACOLOD City – While this city is still on alert following nine documented cholera cases, the City Health Office (CHO) is encouraging everyone to practice “water, sanitation and hygiene” or WASH.
“We must use and drink potable and clean water only. If possible, boil your water for three to five minutes and keep in a sealed container, away from sunlight,” said City Health Officer Ma. Carmela Gensoli.
She also said, “Sanitize utensils and always clean your fruits and fresh produce before preparing them.”
“Exercise and practice good hygiene to prevent cholera,” Gensoli added.
She also advised the public to stay vigilant and alert at all times.
Earlier, the city government ordered the temporary closure of 112 water refilling stations after finding out that they were operating without sanitary and business permits./PN
