Bacolod City among top 5 finalists for most business-friendly LGU

BACOLOD City – This city has been chosen as one of the top 5 finalists for the Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (LGU) Awards (City Level 1B category) organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).

The other four cities are Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Mandaue.

City Administrator Lucille Gelvolea, together with City Treasurer Arlene Memoria, Department of Local Development and Investment Promotion head Dr. Mae Llamas, and Business Permits and Licensing Office head Stella Rayos received the plaque of recognition on Monday, September 23, at PCCI Office in Taguig City.

The announcement and awarding ceremony will be on October 23.

The city also won the same award in 2007 and 2021.

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, in a Facebook post, said this recognition reflects the city government’s commitment to building a business-friendly city and driving growth in Bacolod.

Meanwhile, the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) was selected as one of the finalists for the 2024 Most Outstanding Chamber Awards.

The PCCI, in a Facebook post, said the finalists have been selected based on their exemplary performance in fostering an enabling environment for business growth, promoting innovation, and sustaining economic development in their respective localities./PN
