Bacolod city council sets areas for flower vendors

BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod here passed a resolution allowing the sale of flowers and candles along sidewalks leading to cemeteries, barely days before the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day commemoration.

Vendors will only be allowed to sell their wares in two designated areas, Vice Mayor Familirian said.

“The only areas where flower and candle vendors are allowed to do business will be at the public plaza and Burgos Street fronting Bacolod North Cemetery,” explained Familiaran.

He also warned that ukay-ukay stalls are strictly prohibited.

“We want to make sure that all roads and sidewalks, especially those leading to cemeteries, are free from obstructions,” said Familiaran.

Familiaran noted that a road closure will be implemented on Burgos Street fronting the Bacolod North Cemetery from Oct. 31 tov No 2.

“This is to decongest roads in places of convergence during the Undas holidays,” he said./PN
