Bacolod City drug op seizes P5.4-M worth of ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – The anti-drug operation of the Bacolod City Police Office’s (BCPO) Station 2 in Barangay 8 here led to the seizure of an estimated 800 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately P5.4 million.

Police also arrested alias “Rico,” 55, and a resident of the said village’s Purok Narra Bay-bay around 8:35 p.m. on October 26. He was tagged as high-value drug suspect.

Recovered from his possession were nine plastic sachets of the suspected shabu.

The suspect was detained at the Police Station 2. He will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, the chief of police for Western Visayas, commended the BCPO and Police Station 2 for their vigilance and proactive efforts to combat drug-related crimes. “This arrest reflects our commitment to safeguarding the community from illegal drugs and upholding the law. Our work is a collaborative effort, and we encourage the public to continue reporting any suspicious activities, with the assurance of confidentiality,” Wanky said./PN
