BACOLOD City – Congressman-elect Greg Gasataya said the national government has allotted a P1.4-billion budget for infrastructure projects in this city under the provision of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
“Because of the confidence of the national government in the implementation of the projects, Bacolod City gets the same budget this year,” said Gasataya expressing his gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte.
The lone district representative noted that in other cities, the budget allocated to the DPWH was cut by 70 percent.
“We are thankful because we have still the same amount,” he explained.
The infrastructure projects are comprised of the ongoing construction of the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Econominc Highway, construction of the median-island from Barangay Tangub to Barangay Sum-ag road.
The installation of solar lights in several areas of this city and improvement of drainage system along circumferential road in Barangay Villamonte were also included in the multi-million project.
“I will ensure a good working relationship between the city mayor and his office in order to fast track and improve the services for Bacolodnons,” he stressed./PN
