Bacolod city gov’t workers’ bonus out this week

BACOLOD City – Ahead of Christmas Day, employees of the city government here will receive their yearend bonus and cash gift starting this week.

Councilor Cindy Rojas, chairperson of the committee on appropriation and finance, said some 1,375 qualified city government employees will receive P40,000 each.

Last week, Mayor Evelio Leonardia announced that all regular and plantilla casual employees will receive their yearend bonus.

According to Leonardia, the cash incentives include the collective negotiation agreement incentive worth P25,00, service recognition incentive worth P10,000 and Productivity Enhancement Incentive worth P5,00.

Leonardia, however, said that job order employees will not receive the yearend bonus since they are not employed by the City Hall.
He pointed out that the city government has already provided a salary increase for these job order workers, saying, “It’s like a bonus that has been staggered.”

The city council earlier approved P48 million as an additional bonus for through an ordinance.

The amount of P40,000 includes the P25,000 as Collective Negotiation Agreement Incentive, which will be released not earlier than Dec. 15, and the P5,000 as Productivity Enhancement Incentive, which will be given before Dec. 15.

The CNAI, which is provided in Budget Circular No. 2019-5, and the PEI, which is based on Budget Circular No. 2017-4, will be given to regular, contractual, casual, appointive, and elective personnel.

The allocation for the CNAI was sourced from the savings under the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses./PN
